Hi all,
Ive got a Starcom Intercom, with an Ipod connected to the audio in.
Music quality........... pretty darn good.
Intercom quality....... now that's another story, another time, crap.. however.
I connected a relay, triggered from the tailight (ignition on) to supply power direct from battery (fused) for Ipod and Starcom.
I dismembered a standard Ipod cigarette lighter adapter thingo, so that i soldered power cable directly to the PCB and then to the relay. I did this for the space saving from installing a cigar socket and the standard ipod adapter.
Anyways, as soon as i connect the Ipod charger lead, I get a lot of electrical noise through the headsets, disconnect....noise gone.
Because Ive trashed the ipod adapter, Im unable to see if this is a "standard feature".
Can someone who has an ipod and std cigar adaptor, plug it in a see if you get electrical noise through your earbuds.
Maybe I need some sort of inline filter.??? (enter electronic guru)..
The intention of all of this is so I dont have to remove my ipod everynight to recharge. It lives under the seat and soon I'll be riding for 42 days straight (YEEHA) :ricky.
The relay. is triggered from the tailight so there is no way I can get a flat battery on the bike, as the system is only active with the ignition on.
Keep that smiling thing happening, thanks in advance
