We are only supported by the community and a hand full of supporting dealers and vendors. Dowco Tail Bag for K1200S

http://www.motorcycle-superstore.co...=668&division=6

Bought and installed a Dowco tail bag on my K1200S. Because there has been some interest in tail bags in this forum, I thought I'd do a quick review on the Dowco. At the outset, I must admit that I embarked upon my voyage looking for the Chicane Summit Tail Bag. Unfortunately, no one seems to have the summit in stock; I even searched every nook at the BMW MOA rally in West Bend, WI, to no avail. My futile search for the Summit opened my mind to other possibilities, though, and I came upon the Dowco tail bag. "Hmmm!" I said to myself, before buying and installing the Dowco. Here's my review and some pictures:

Technical Specifications: The link above gives technical specifications in terms of capacity, etc. and so I won't bother with those.

Price: About $90 although you can probably get some better deals if you take the time to search the internet.

Product strengts vis-a-vis the K1200S: Fits the OEM seat like a glove. Unobtrusive and enhances the sleek lines of the bike (goes with the flow). Superb quality. Ties down nice and firm. Ties are of a superior quality with a velcro cover to keep from scratching any part of your bike. Spacious and expandable. Zippers are of a high quality. Pockets for pens and calculators (I can never find a pen when I need one, but these pockets should solve the problem). Removable and exchangeable side strips with nine different colors to match your helmet, jacket, or mood! Unobtrusive waterproof cover that tucks away nicely and, when tucked away, actually provides a soft padding for your lower back. Took the bike out for a test ride and didn't even notice that the tail bag was there.

Product Weaknesses: Raises the clearance height so that when you are straddling your bike, you got to put in a little extra effort. Can't think of any other weakness.

Overall Conclusion: I'm a very happy camper. I would rate this accessory as among the best in terms of bang for my $90 bucks!
