85 k100rs aftermarket exhaust

I was wanting to get an aftermarket exhaust for my k100, but the one on the MAC performance website says it only fits 1986 models and up...

If these dont fit, then does anyone know where an aftermarket for an 85 is?

Also if there is a difference between an 85 and an 86, what is it? my 85 is a 4 to 1 header to muffler system.

Will this fit the 85? Link below...

here is another one i was wondering if it would fit...

The main differences between the different year models of K-bike exhaust are the way the muffler mounts to the back end of the left footpeg bracket. It is possible to fabricate a mount that will work with just about any muffler hanger. I did this several years ago and it worked ok.

Remus makes a system that will fit the different year models. I have had one for several years now with their quietest muffler and it is acceptable. I would rather have the quiet of the stocker, but finally gave up with the cracking.

I ended up with the muffler hanger from the K100/K1100 (16 valve models) that uses the rear two mount bolts of the footpeg bracket. It is stout and rubber donut equipped. Get the pipe that will fit those bikes and you are in business.

Hmmm.

I have a Kerker slip on on my 1985 K100RS. A lot lighter than stock (1/4 the weight?) and works well. I, however would prefer the quiet of the stock system, especially with my neighbors being lawyers and all.

If you want to swap, let me know. My Kerker is all aluminum and in fine condition.
