K1200S Ilmberger Carbon Fiber Rear hugger for sale

I have a rear hugger I am selling ($250 including delivery to anywhere in the US) that is off of my 'old' '06 K1200S. I have the new K1300S but, of course, it won't fit due to the wider rear they fitted, so it's up for grabs.

It's only been on the bike for a bit over a year with about 4k driven miles, all in good weather, so it's in perfect shape.

Please write me directly at david@tonsavon.com if interested. Thanks!

Just to clarify, do you have a bigger tire than 190/55ZR17? My impression was that hugger should fit for that. I've had it clear just fine on a 190/50ZR17 before.

Sent off a check to him yesterday. Will be installing on my 08S. Same tire size as yours. Didn't realize the K13 used a wider and/or taller tire.

Sold

As Mike wrote, he has a check in the mail and it's sold....I tried it on the new K13 but it rubs for sure...and others have verified the same...so there's nothing I can do but sell it and wait for Ilmberger to come out with the new one for the K13.

This doesn't make since. So what size tire is on the K1300S?? I thought they were the same as the K1200S..??? Mine has a 190 tire and I've run both 50 and 55 profiles with no issues with huggers (which I no longer use.) Unless the K1300S is using a 200 tire.. the hugger should work...??.

What say ye?

Why don't you use the hugger any longer? It seems like a good idea to me to use it. Not to worry, I won't be returning it to you.

Didn't like the look.. simple as that... FYI.. those huggers are like gold these days.. They only ship in about 20 a year... I sell out in an hour when I get a shipment..

still curious as to what size tire is on the K1300S.. Does ANYBODY know?

Follow up... Just found out that the K1300S in question has a Continental ContiSport Attack 190/55 ZR17 on it... the K1200S comes with a 190/50.ZR17

I could be wrong but I think the situation is this..the K1200S hugger would have fit the K1300S if it had a different profile tire... like a Pirelli...The Conti Sport as well as most Dunlops have a wider footprint than most tires of the same size. I have run both 55 and 50 series of different brands on my own bike with huggers.. some tires work.. some don't... the 55 number is for height.. not width and should NOT make any difference...

Therefore.. in my omnipotent opinion...the Ilmburger K1200S hugger shoud fit any K1300S with a more rounder profile tire and I'll bet money that Ilmberger will NOT redesign the huggers for the new bike...

the only other variable might be... I do NOT know if BMW has changed the position or style of the factory torque arm. If they have a new arm.. there might be clearance issues.. If not.. I'm right.

I'll eat these words if someone can prove otherwise..
