We know it has been a challenging few years for all of us, but last year was especially challenging for the support of this community. We had some significant expenses, while the support from our membership continues to be significantly smaller than years past. If you appreciate this community and want to see it continue to grow and improve, it is important that you support us through subscriptions. We are only supported by the community and a hand full of supporting dealers and vendors. We have continued to keep this community free of intrusive advertising and banners, unlike most other online communities, but if we cannot pay the bills, we will be forced to look at some sort of advertising in the near future. If you are not a member, please take a moment and purchase a subscription. Please thank the Vendors and Dealers who support this community by giving them a chance to earn your business. |

Back On A K
In the past 13 years I've earned the reputation of changing motorcycles like women change shoes or purses. I very rarely own more than one at a time. A '10 K13S was my favorite out of all of them, but I thought I wanted something more comfortable for touring possibilities. Traded the S for a '10 RT, then traded the RT for a '10 Concours, which I currently have and really like even though the touring possibilities never materialized. I ride a Kawasaki, but my local BMW / Ducati / Triumph dealership has always been "home" to me. They currently have a pre-owned '09 K13S on the floor in nice shape with nearly 11K miles. Took it for a test ride on Saturday and that set the wheels (pun intended) in motion. The Concours is a fantastic motorcycle and I enjoy it, but it doesn't put the smile on my face like the S does. Before leaving the dealership I signed on the bottom line, trading my Concours for a '13 K13S. It's scheduled to arrive in the USA on 09/01, then on a slow truck to the dealership. Funny how history repeats itself.

our local dealer has been pretty sparse in terms of K1300S, new or used.
I'd be interested to see how many units they have sold and if they continue the series any further than this year. the k12 started in 2005 and was "replaced" or "upgraded" in 2009. now the k13 to 2013...
