shifter fix

ok,,, as some of you know,, i have bitched a few times about the stock shifter on my low milage RS. Well i finally got off my ass and did something about it. Found a neighbor with a lathe and a milling machine and he rides.Long story short,, he cut about 5/8 of an inch off the shifter,, the one that comes off the engine. Then he had to add same amount on the shift lever by the use of spiffy looking sleeve he made. He also made a new bushing for the pivot bolt out of some sort of self lubing nylon he called Delrin or some such crap. I bought the brackets that move the pegs lower and forward also. They came with the shifter extension,, which sucked. So I ground a new"divot" in the shifter to rotate it forward more. End result? FU$%ING GREAT!!!!! No more slop in the shifter and its a lot shorter on the throw. Missed shifts were the norm when i was in a hurry,, now a rarity.worth every penny and i wish i would have done this last year when i got the bike. If anyone is intersted and cant find someone to do this for them ,friend said for 100 bucks he will do yours.I'm going to try to attach photos to make it clear what we did.
