BMW RA Rally in Houghton, MI

The BMW RA rally is in Houghton, MI, this year, June 19-22. I've never been to a RA rally. What's it like? How does it compare with the BMW MOA rallies?

They're a whole lot smaller gathering.

While they still do the camping thing, same as MOA,
the RA rallies are generally about the surrounding roads
and the good riding as opposed to setting up a tent
and drinking for several days in a row,

For what it is worth, the Houghton Michigan area is very comparable to the Maine coast with out the crowds and pretentious east coast attitudes... Beautiful roads and great scenery!

Like Maine we have moose in Michigan too and a lot more deer, avoid the dawn and dusk riding if you can.

Hope to meet alot of the K-Bikes crowd, as this is almost home... almost, like Grif heading to El Paso

Sounds more and more like a worthwhile journey. I've made reservations at a Motel 8 and will plan to attend.

I'm thinking about heading up to the rally. I just graduated from Michigan Tech this spring and my new K12R needs some more UP miles.
