another guns question

Is it necessary to obtain permission for small firearms with rubber bullets in the USA?
The pistols/revolvers that are unable to fire normal rounds but rubber bullets.
They are called "traumatic" here. Sorry, I am not sure about exact name in the States.
Are they popular?
TIA

Take care!

Not common in my neck of the woods. If I'm gonna shoot someone, I want it to be permanent. Ours is such a sue happy society if you shot someone with a rubber bullet if would prolly result in years of litigationl.

Wise

As we are not allowed to possess small arms the "traumatics" are a kind of popular to talk about here.
One of the common jokes here is "cut off the sight right after the purchase! - would not hurt so when the barrel is in your ass".

Take care!

Don't know about rubber bullets. Haven't seen those. We have look-alike guns which shoot a hard plastic BB from air pressure. Most of those we tend to call by a generic "airsoft". You don't have to have any special permit or license for those. They are very popular with some crowds, especially kids.
