It's that time of year again!

Two years ago, this month, we launched this community on our new and fresh interface, with scores of new features. Since that time this community has grown substantially. Because of this anniversary, October has become the month when we try to encourage support from our community members. We operate this community to support the many BMW sport and sport- touring riders that have come to count on this as the source for information, friendship and fun.

If you find that this community provides a value to you, please take a moment and support this community through our subscription system. For as little as a buck a month you can help keep the lights on here. If you choose to support this community at higher levels you can get some additional email, web space and custom user title privileges. The complete description of the support levels and added features are on our subscription page.

This site is owned and operated by riders, dedicated to maintaining and continuing our long history as one of the best communities on the Internet. Surpassing 10,000 members and now supporting many different models in BMWs lineup, this has become a busy place indeed. We derive no income from this project and we contribute a significant amount of time and effort to maintain and improve it.

We apologize for the outage last month, and are working stridently to prevent the recurrence of an extended outage. It was the result of a failure of our primary server, coupled with problems from some aging equipment that we just didnít have the resources to replace. We wish we had the resources of a Fortune 500 company, but we do the best we can on a very tight budget. We have deployed some new equipment to replace some of the older pieces that were no longer worth maintaining or repairing. We plan to add a backup to our primary server early next year.

All of our equipment is located at a facility providing a secure location, with a stable power supply and a fully redundant and very fast Internet connection. The equipment and hosting constitute a significant expense for us to bear.

We have a real aversion to commercializing this community to generate income through intrusive advertising and are committed to avoiding that as a source of revenue. Your support as well as the support from our dealers and vendors is what keeps this community alive. Please give our supporting vendors and dealers a chance to earn your business.

I sent in my "dues" I think enough of this site to warrant me to become a gold member. Everybody, please keep this site going. It has made each of our lives on our bikes, better, from tips to farkles etc. You know this to be the case.
I am not a member of the Staff, just a happy biker out there!
