oils n stuff
Gnawing on a beer can and chatting with a fellow rider about my sons Blackbird and how he decided he had a broken ring or similiar. Talked of trading the bike in.
Anyways the bike was 3000k past a service. He changed the oil, added a slightly heavier oil (probably not relevant) Hey! no more broken ring. Son was saying as the oil loses viscosity it gets past the rings and burns up. My drinking partner (2004 GT BMW) was saying he had noticed that as you get closer to a service, the oil is used up faster. I had noticed that but had not really thought about it. You think you are going to go the distance without adding oil, but three quarters of the way through the K needs a drink
Must be a lesson in all this. And before some smart *&^%$ tells me!!!! Guess the lesson is "Keep drinking beer. Makes you smarter"
