Smile Fair Tax?

Gentlemen,

I do perfectly realize that you are already having busy times with the electoral show but could you enlighten me, please, on Fair Tax ideas. What is your opinion as twowheelers!
TIA

Take care!

Tax on what, Vladimir? Sales tax on motorcycles? Gasoline tax? Road tax? Income tax? Thumbtax?

I think "Fair Tax" is the governments way of saying:
"What's ours is ours, what's yours is negotiable"

Chuck,

I mean this: http://www.lewrockwell.com/paul/paul347.html

Elimination of sales tax, income tax, border taxes and their replacement by consumer tax.

P.S. BTW, I bought a shotgun and shoot sporting clays(compak version) on week-ends

Take care!

Easyman. The fair tax is not really fair as it is not a progressive tax. It hurts the lower income person more than the higher wage earner. The lower person would be paying a higher tax proportionately than the richer person for the necessities in life. Consumption taxes always hurts the little guy. In theory, the income tax gets higher in increments, so that is probably fairer.

I can't believe we would ever go to any other system anyway. There's too much federal beauracracy (Did I spell that right? It looks wrong.) involved in the system we have. The candidates all love to talk to the talk, but I don't think anyone will ever have the juice to change the system... and I'm not even sure there's a better system, even though the one we have is awful.

I would love the fair tax but as someone stated earlier there are too many people living off the current tax system. IRS employees, congress hired employees, accountants, etc. Hundreds of thousands would have to find new jobs and their lobbyists would hate for that to happen.
