Louisiana just implemented red light cams and speeding vans (covert radar) in a few counties (parishes). There are a few lawsuits but people are paying tickets already. In one of the local papers they listed the drivers name and their speed violation which included a few local politicians and police officers. The police departments made a few officers pay fines and I think one was suspended.

Isn't there a license plate cover that is supposed to thwart the cameras?

Big brother anyone?

...I did see a study on those special covers...but none really worked...if there more of an angle shot I would think that some fine screen would work...at a direct view it would seem that you could read the plate ok.....have to mess around

There must be some brand that works as California has banned the application of the stuff to plates as of Jan. 1, 2008. It was AB801 (by Walters) that passed.

NY law says that license plates cannot be covered in anyway. A friend of mine had a plate that had a dealers name on the frame that covered the State logo..... he got a ticket.
