How do you handle the economic crisis?

maybe some of you are employed, other are running a business. how do you cope with the crisis? i am curious how much drop in income at your side if any. i am hit in the head, 50% drop in may, 38% in june due to some crisis strategy, selling cheap chinese stuff that i hate but allows more margin. i run a security equipment business. this month not good also, i tend to believe those recovery stories from the media are science fiction.

My income has dropped 99%. We sold our office building and closed the company. I may have to cut back eventually, but for now, I'm enjoying my 2nd year of "retirement". I too doubt the recover is in place. I still think the worst is yet to come, but this too will pass. I lived through the Carter/Reagan recession. Stagflation anyone?

VP Biden came to a local High School in upstate NY. Told us the recovery is working great. Most of the people in attendance agreed with him. Didn't matter that General Motors was loading up all the vehicles at some local lots the same day and closing the dealers down.

Guess some people will believe anything their political party tells them.

same story here.
the only business which is floating - oil and gas but they are always crying they have no money to pay taxes.
Some of the sectors are below zero. So to watch those guys on G8 meeting smiling and talking meaningless words is no fun.
At the same time prices for tours(hotels in Maldives, Bali, Turkey etc and airtickets) are still at the same level than 2-3 years ago. Carsales are down but the prices - not. LandRover has increased their prices though the rate of the GBP to local rouble is the same.

Take care!
