Our prayers to the family of Jeff Eagan, RIP. I read about his accident on the I-BMW site.

Jeff, el-Jeffe, I am going to miss you and your energy. Your light shone brightly and I am glad that I was able to know and ride with you and be part of your circle of friends.

Ride in peace my friend.

Rich

So hard to fathom and yet a fate we all share. I pray for his family and hope his final moments were happy. Very distressing indeed.

He left us while out riding in Wyoming with a close group of friends. The circumstances suggest he may have lost consciousness while riding in an area with few turns and little traffic.

I take solace knowing he was riding in a beautiful country with a close cadre of friends when he was called home.

Known as "ElJeffe" around here, Jeff was our partner in creating BMWLT.com, one of the founding members of the Curve Cowboy Reunion, subsequently helping to build this community and a good friend of mine. Jeff worked tirelessly and contributed greatly to the growth of the websites and to the growth and success of CCR. We will all miss his presence and contribution. I will especially miss our frequent phone calls discussing anything and everything, from this community to the world in general. Jeff was willing to do anything to help another rider and was an enthusiastic and vocal supporter of our community and the BMW brand.

Jeff started on an LT about ten years ago, has ridden several other BMW motorcycles and recently had switched to an R1200GSA. He was completely enamored with the new bike and was very excited to be on this most recent trip with good friends. He was on his way home when the accident occurred. It is very likely that he suffered a major health episode as there were no signs that he tried to correct his course or stop as he drifted off the highway. There will be an autopsy Monday.

Jeff is survived by his wife, Ruth. The place and time for services in Dallas, TX will be announced later.

I am still stunned and deeply saddened at this loss and the hole in my heart will never completely heal.

The loss of Jeff is a stark reminder to me to take care of things that must be done.

Ride on, Jeff... see ya face to face some day...

Peace and blessings,
