Random conversations

So it's Thanksgiving morning and living away from family, I have nowhere to be and no one to see. I drag my sorry carcass out of bed anyway and head over to Starbucks for a bit of overpriced caffeinated confection. While I'm standing in line I hear someone say "Are you ready for Rossi's move next year".

It took me a second because I live in the heart of NASCAR country and you just never hear someone casually mention any other kind of racing (especially the two wheeled variety that primarily takes place in other countries). However I had put on a Ducati Corse Barcode hat to cover the bed-head (one I bought mostly because no one around here gets it) and this fellow and his wife, who were passing through town on their way to see family, were MotoGP fans.

Long story short, we talked for almost an hour about racing, riding, and motorcycles in general. That conversation made my day. And that's one of the things I love about this community.

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Carey

I was stuck with the family at the in-laws for Thanksgiving. Nothing like sleeping 3 on a lumpy twin mattress. I envy you.

just kidding.

Hope your holidays get merrier.

Thanks for pointing out the bright side, at least I slept in my own bed (the only lump being one grumpy old Blue Heeler). And on the plus side I am flying home to spend a week with family at Christmas.

At least I think that's a plus side....
