Charlotte Observer article on increase in MC deaths among servicemen
On the front page of the Charlotte Observer today was ans article on the increase in deaths among servicemen while riding motorcycles. Statistics quoted were based on the last few years stating that car fatalities had dropped but MC fatalities had risen. Also quoted was that "most of the fatalities were on sport bikes and involved speed, alcohol or both". Part of the basis for the article is "experts" saying that these men come back from combat and now feel invincible. No statistics were quoted to say how many fatalities involved cars. My first impression is that this article will give readers who don't ride the impression that bikes are dangerous (they can be) and the deaths are blamed on the riders and never an auto driver. I'm trying to find the article online to post a link but am unable to so far. I'll keep looking.
Here's the Observer's web site in case anyone has better luck than me.
