Thumbs up hello to all

Don't see a thread to introduce, so here in campfire seems like a place.

I'm out in Hawaii on the Isle of Oahu.

Rode since a kid, far past that now... approaching 45.

Raced MX and Crosscountry in my (sortof) native North Texas.

20 years in the U.S. Navy.....

Father rode since 40's, particular love; the Norton. Always talked great about BMW, though he never bought one... still says they are too tall for his short 28 inch legs.

I'd been lusting for the new Beemers and so I bought a 1971 R60/5 beginning of the year to see if I'd mellowed enough for street... and COULD NOT stop riding it.

So the K1200R that was settin' down at South Seas BMW started seriously haunting me, could not get it off my mind.

Bought it last Tuesday and have 350 miles on it.

By far the most AWESOME bike I've ever thrown a leg over.

I appreciate all who have posted on this board over the last few months, your comments and insights have been very helpful and enjoyable....

hope I can contribute to the board in the future.

Thanks again.

Just lovin' it.....

G'day Kev, from Ken in Australia.
Was in Oahu at the Marine base (the big one) recently. Spam, steamed rice and scrambled eggs served at Mc Donalds on the base. Apparently, the Hawaiians are the worlds greatest consumer of Spam! There you go! The US is full of surprises. Your islands are beautiful and really friendly people. Too many tourists though!
Ride safe mate, and welcome to the best BMW K site on the net.
