What happened to I-BMW.com

As of approximately 1600 hours EDT the owner of I-BMW.com has decided to change the DNS server entries in the domain record, and thus effectively taking down I-BMW.com.

In response and in order to save the community from great harm we have decided to move the community to a new domain, and in turn to a new software.

While the old software is still accessible under the URL: http://www.k-bikes.com/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php expect that to be closed soon and it will be used as an archive from there on.

As for the political meaning of that, I guess your site administrators and moderators will make announcements soon.

WTF does that mean to us non-IT, riding-only people?

This means that Mr. Vic Saleme ('vics' on the old board) has decided to declare I-BMW.com in-operable for the time being. Since I-BMW.com is Mr. Saleme's property he executed his right as domain owner to shut it down. (YES, I can prove the statement it was Mr. Saleme who decided the I-BMW.com domain to become in-operative)

Again this is only the technical explanation. Further details will be posted soon.

When there is no statement by the site owner

Sounds that this was a overthrow...I guess that BMWRS.com will not be linking to www.i-bmw.com any more.

We all feel like mushrooms here...in the dark and fed $%&*. This has been going on for weeks It is not a good feeling after 7 years.

Where is VIC? Why is there no word from the founder?

Is this going to be another rule filled piece of crap, over controlled forum like Shiva's? The rules page wound never have been written by VIC he believed in Free Speech.

Since I am not able to understand all of the BS that I have read for the past couple of weeks help me out here. Am I correct in saying that the site started by VIC and taken full scale for 7+ years and all of his years of driving up the membership has been taken over by the administrators he trusted to help him a couple of years ago?

I hope I am not right.

Where is vic? Good question, since it was HIM who turned off i-bmw.com.
