Ever Seen A Police Motorcycle Competition

Went to a Motorcycle Police Competition today . . . very impressive. These guys can indeed ride. Most of the bikes were HD Road Kings, a few BMW RTP's, didn't see anything else.

I am not sure how all of the events are graded, other than the obvious of no foot dabs or knocking over cones. If you have never seen one and have the opportunity to see one, do so. It was an eye-opener for me and a new found respect for the LEO's and their riding skills.

I agree!!!! I took the 80 hour police motorcycle course close to 2 years ago. It is very demanding. You are your worst enemy while taking the course. I dropped the BMW RT1100 31 times during the two week course. By the end of the course I rocked. I didnt hit any of the cones and finished with high colors. I feel very confident with my riding skills now!!!

I didn't think a police course was offered. MAybe I should look around my area to she if such a course is available. Sounds like a great oppurtunity. Although, the major problem would be fitting this into my schedule.

As a $30 alternative, consider the DVD from www.ridelikeapro.com. The guy trains motor officers and does a good job on the DVD. He gives the 3 critical things you must do and shows you several exercises to do. Claims with 8 hours of practice you will ride like a pro. I've been practicing for 1.5 years and can now do a U-turn on a 24' wide road!
