Smile Catskill Blast

Just got back from a 260 mile Catskill blast
The weather was a bit nippy to begin with, but as the ride progressed, it warmed up and my cold weather gloves were replaced with gloves that have actual feel. It is amazing how a comfortable pair of gloves with "feel" can change the pace so dramatically.
One of the things that I most enjoy about riding a motorcycle is to have no particular destination in mind, allowing a whimsical route selection.
I decided to take a random turn off of Route 47 by Big Indian and I came a cross a bhuddist shrine in the middle of the woods. Nice photo opportunity
Riding on towards Tannersville I came across a pretty chapel off of Route 23C. Another nice photo opportunity.
All in all a fine way to spend a Sunday, unfortunately I do not think that I will be riding up in the Catskills again until the spring
And how was your day?

OK - I'll just post my pictures from today's ride to the Catskills here.

Jim,

I almost posted last night to see if anyone wanted to get together for a ride, but I was not sure were I wanted to go to today. So like you I just took off this morning not sure where I'd end up or how far I'd go. I ended up making it all the way to Big Indian via 47 (too bad I missed you) - then I went to Phoenicia for lunch around 1:30. I wanted to make it back to the Pepacton Reservoir, but I took too long getting out that way and I didn't want to have to slab it home.

I expected this to be my last opportunity this year to really have some fun before the roads go to shit and I made the most of it. For the next four or five months most of my riding will be just getting out when ever the weather allows for a quick fix.
I got in just over 330 miles today and my bike ticked over 34K total miles.

The 1st two are on Monhonk Road, the next one is on CR 3 headed north towards 28A. The last one is one of two hairpis on 21 in Dutchess County. If you put your curser over the thumbnail you'll get the name of the photo.

By the way, the rear P-Power has 2200 miles on it and is wearing well (no flat spot). I've keep the pressure up pretty high (between 40 to 44 psi) - and only about 25% of those miles are in the curvy stuff - I think it might make past 4K miles.
