Mt. Rushmore is in South Dakota... You'll enjoy the Idaho Montana ride though. What route do you plan on taking?

Thank you... Ambitious yes, but that is what makes for great memories...shoot high and even if you dont make it all the way up there, where ever you land is still better than where you were before...

and even that, anywhere i am on the road riding, is a better day riding the chair at work...

that being said...i wonder what i will do next summer?

Couldn't agree more, a bad day of riding (say in the rain) is much better than a good day at work

Good Luck with your ride !! Myself i'm off from Saint John, N.B. to Ottawa, Ont. tomorrow on my K75 S appx 700 miles....going to try it in one day......about 12.5 hours total time i figure.....

I used to do that kind of mileage for a joke but i'm 67 now and have been away from Beemers for about 6 years.....

Thought it was all over for me then this nice little K popped up......

As for you and next summer, do it all over again

Well, I made it 12 states, and about 3700 miles when I lost my wallet on Interstate 75 turning west on interstate 10. I circled the loop of about 25 miles of when I was positive I had it last 4 total times...but I never found it. So I was without money or gas, and therefore, called it quits on the trip, and called in the family for help to get me home.

The link above is a pretty cool travel blog I found when on myspace. It shows a map of the travels, and I was able to link pictures as well....

Another summer is around the corner, and hopefully, I will be able to make it again...and take a little more time as well.

thanks everyone for your comments.

Too bad about losing you wallet man, i know the feeling, i was 200 miles into my ride, opened the tankbag at a fuel stop, no wallet, fortunately in my case It was deep within a pocket in my riding suit..... Next time, i'll pull one credit card and keep it in a known place as i said , sorry for you.......

I have learned my lesson, and even more so, I have learned to take better care when Im traveling.

truth is, Im pretty anal and OCD when it comes to my things. Everything has its place, and everything in its place. So for me to leave my pocket open, not once, not twice, but 5 times! it was a sign, my mind was not in the right place during part of this trip...

Thank you for your comments...
