Ireland to Madeira & the Arctic on a k1200r

Just back after a 6 week trip abroad, aim was to get to the Faro rally in Portugal, took the ferry from Rosslare to Fishguard, drove to Plymouth, ferry to Santander, around the Pyrenees towards Barcelona, then to Faro, after the rally took the new ferry from Portimao to Madeira, stayed there a week, back to Portimao, through Portugal, Spain, France, Belgium, Holland, North Germany, Denmark, East Sweden beyond the Arctic to Svolvaer in Lofoten isl Norway, left the bike there and went with a friend to Tromso, flew to Spitsbergen, had a ball there, back to Svolvaer, ferry to Bergen, drove to Stavanger, ferry to Newcastle in the UK, drove to Fishguard, ferry to Dublin and home to Cork, 11000 km, only problem was headlight bulb blew, 33500km on the k1200r at this stage so decided to take the ferry option home from north Norway as an important service was overdue which included rocker adjustment and didn't want to add on another 3500km
Will post photos soon, here is a Google map of the route

Sounds like a great trip - I hope you avoided any speeding fines in Norway (expensive mistake to make).

Looking forward to the pics.

By the way, what's the ferry from Portimao to Madeira run and how long does it take?

The Portimao/Funchal ferry is a fairly new route, runs once weekly and takes 22hrs
http://www.madeirablog.eu/2008/04/09...-and-portugal/

No speeding fines during my time in Norway lol, heard of one guy who had to pay 400 for 72kmh in a 60kmh zone, another did 25 days in gaol rather than pay the fine when found doing 162kmh
Ill try a few images and see how they load here
