Sierra Riding

Had to get out of the heat last weekend. Started from home in Carson City headed to Markleeville than up over Monitor pass than south on 395 to Sonora pass. Back down to 395 and south to Bridgeport and over to Twin lakes. Back on 395 and to Conway summit turned west to a small lake that I forget the name of. 395 again Mono lake looks nice in the early morning. Gas in Lee Vining and up to Tioga pass. Boy this cool air sure feels good. Over the top and down untill the temp gets to 80* than turnaround and head east again. Out of the park and up to Saddleback lake. There is no place to camp here so down I go to Virginia lake for the night. Sunday ride starts at 7:30 Down 395 to the 120 turnoff to Benton. Great road with good high speed corners. Gas at Benton and back to 395 and the June lake loop. Mammoth is next for lunch. Back on 395 heading north. Nice: light rain in Bridgeport , down Walker canyon and than turning back up Monitor pass. I pull over at the summit and wait till 6PM hoping the heat will die down in Carson City. Back through Markleeville and Genoa. Carson was still hot but I still had a nice ride. 625 miles with lots of curves. The only bad part is running out of roads that are close and out of the summer heat. Hear are a few pics along the way.

Kevin

PS: This is my first post with pics hope this works.

Great roads! My buddies and I ride them all the time. The road to Benton has great whoops and I still have to back off some of them. We take an annual trip to June Lake every year in September. The eastern slope is great isn't it?

Howdy neighbor!

Looks like you're having fun. The season's half over and I still haven't ridden Monitor, Ebbets, or Sonora passes yet. I did get to enjoy a breakdown on Highway 50 between Ely and Delta, UT this weekend returning from the Paonia rally. As soon as I get the bike running, I'll be heading over Ebbets for a beer in Arnold, CA.
