Virginia to California Trip 2017

It's been a while since I've been on this site. I thought I'd post a link to a trip I'm doing from Charlottesville, Virginia to San Diego, California beginning August 6th until August 19th. The link is Non Sequitur. I haven't done a blog in years but some friends at work are fascinated by my biking adventures. Please comment if you find anything of interest. I have a map of my tentative route. My main 'excuse' for cycling to California is to visit my son who currently lives in San Diego ( Never let an opportunity ( excuse ) to ride go to waste. Some ask: 'why not fly there?' That's like explaining the color blue to someone who is color blind.

This is a solo trip. I am privileged to have more yearly vacation than my wife so I take a yearly motorcycle trip.

I will be posting photos that those following will find interesting.

My ride is a K1200 GT with 100100 miles on it.

It's going to be hot going through Arizona. I hope you have a cool vest. Whatever you do, stay WAY north going through Texas.

Good luck. I want to go to Bonneville this year. Last time/ first time was '73. If nothing else the sky at night is breathtaking. But I may be kidding myself. $$$ need to fall on me.

How was your trip from Virginia to California?
I'm sure the K1200GT did a good job.
