Veterans Day " Dicky Johnson "Memorial Day Ride
My best friend growing up, Richard "Dicky" Johnson was my hero. He was the star on the high skool football team. Not a giant but big and strong. If you were a bully and picked on smaller kids, well you had to answer to him. We were in Cub Scout's together and BoyScouts and went to the same skools over and over and the same bus stop where we all learned to smoke cigeretts togther. I remmeber one Boy Scout camp out a big bully named Greg M********* was taking the coke cans away from smaller scouts after asking for a swing and then downing the whole can. Dicky saw this and took a can and pissed in it. Greg came over and asked for a swig and Dicky said sure but don't drink the whole can. Greg tried until he realized he downing piss and threw up with everyone laughing at him. That's the kind of guy Johnson was. His father used to beat him and he came to skool and gym class sometiimes a mess. When he got older he beat up his dad and enlisted in the Marine corps. He took a RPG to the head at Khe Sang Fire Base near the DMZ and had a closed casket funeral. His name is on the wall in Washington, I have a rubbing from it. Every Vets day I don't work and do some thing in his memory and honor. This year we were blessed with a ridable day and I'd like to share the pictures from Friday and Saturday's "Dicky is my hero memorial ride."
