Utah Pictures

In April, I was able to combine business with a lot of pleasure. Tired of US Airways, Delta and the rest of them, I decided to take my K12GT from home (NC) to the west coast with business stops in TX and AZ. I concluded business in Dallas on a Thursday and left for Big Bend at 4:30 the next morning. I had breakfast in Abilene as the sun was coming up and checked in to the Resort at Lajitas by 7:00 PM. Texas is BIG!

I made the trip over to Scottsdale, AZ and was on to CA for the rest of the week. I left Sacramento on Saturday morning heading east. Just past Reno, I took US 50 over to Ely, NV where I spent the evening. By 3:30 the next afternoon, I was in Arches National Park scouting for places to do sunset and sunrise photography. Spending two days in Arches wasn't quite enough. I need to go back. Attached are a few of my photos.

All totaled, I clocked 8,806 miles in three weeks. The good news is I get to do it again in August.

Nice pics. It's hard to put the camera down when riding through parts of Utah.

Sierra Cement: Good for skis, bad for knees.

The one hitch to this is that you may encounter some crappy weather. On many days it will probably be pretty hot, and since the monsoon is typically in full swing by then, intense thunderstorms will be an ever-present possibility.

If weather isn't a show-stopper for you, well, I guess you'll simply have a more enriching experience.

Thanks a lot for sharing - nice pics! For me they look like from a Western movie. Just the bike instead of horses. :-))
The scenes are stunning!
