Question Milwaukee,WI to Jensen Beach,FL route(s)?

Vacation trip to FL, leaving Milwaukee, WI (North of Chicago) and traveling to Jensen Beach, FL (North of West Palm). I am going to be traveling light, but will have the hard bags for gear. Heard about southside Chicago having major roadwork, will try to get through before rush hour traffic jams. Unless you have a better suggestion?

My quest is for enjoyable route(s). Leaving before weekend, plan on arriving by Easter Sunday (or earlier). Apporx. distance 1400 mi. Don't mind some hwy travel, but don't need to spend a day traveling only to find out I'm only 400 miles closer to destination. Would like to arrive in maximum of 4 days (I know I can get there in 2, have done that when I had a K100RS).

If you were making this trip, what route(s) would you prefer? I'll probably take different route back. I'd appreciate feedback.

Thumbs up Traffic

You should have no problem if you leave early morning. I drive semi through Chicago a couple of times a week with hardly any delay. The Toll road is under construction (294) but they still have 3 lanes open. You could even run through downtown on the Edens Expressway ,it is usually faster, before 5am anyway. Hope this helps ,have a safe trip.
