Dinner Ride

Howdy Gang,

Every Wednesday a group gets together for a dinner ride, rain or shine, and since the weather is F'n beautiful I thought I'd see if any of you are interested.

The rides are always after work and dinner is generally at 7:30. If the place has a good bar, then we try to arrive around 7.

Usually we pick places around Sacramento with a radius of say 40 miles.

This ride will be to Lincoln. I don't have the exact place yet, but it's going to be either Buonarroti or Old Town Pizza. Thought I'd meet up with anyone that wants to ride around the back side of Folsom Lake (Salmon Falls to Auburn) then out 193.

I'm thinking of meeting at A&S and heading out at 6PM. Swing by Coffee Republic (Auburn Folsom at Greenback) in Folsom (it's in the strip that's flanked by Jiffy Lube/Union 76 and McDonald's) around 6:15 or so and take off for Salmon Falls Road.

The ride is, as always, your ride at your pace. We count up on departure and wait at every turn for the total. The pace will range from relaxed to spirited.

If you you're up for this let me know by copying the below information and adding your name.

Bear in mind that you don't have to go on the ride to join in. Many people simply meet at the restaurant. We do need a head count so that we can give the place time to prepare for our group.

It was a great ride to Lincoln, after getting out the city traffic, with 7 of us taking the scenic route on some tasty twisties, including some techinically challenging sections of highway 49. Steep downhills with several tight button-hook right-handers. The brakes on the K-R are great, but when you're two-up on a STEEP downgrade, it just doesn't seem to shed speed as fast as I'd like .

Jeff, that Remus sounds moto bella! I think I'll pull my baffle and see if the slip can get close in sound

All bikes arrived without incident in Lincoln at the Old Town Pizza. That is, unless you count shaving the sides of my just installed BellyPan with the pavement :wtf as an incident.

We met up with the rest of the gang and 19 (members of the LT, K-Bike and Ducati sites) of us enjoyed excellent pizza and many pitchers of beer.

These dinners are every Wednesday and are coordinated on the bmwlt.com site in the Northern California section. The threads are titled "HDDC x/y", x and y for the date. You can monitor for them there. I'll try to post on this site, but I'm out of town most weeks for awhile so won't be heading up the rides.

Jeff, a morning ride with you and the Mrs. would be fun, but let's avoid having to pick up the breadfast tab for a bunch of our local "friends"
