System 6 helmet

Heard from the dealer in Adelaide that the system 6 helmets should be in Australia towards the end of the year,or early next.
Now we need to get Scuberth to start importing !

G'day Andy.
How's things mate?
My System 6 (imported) is really comfortable and light, however I'm not happy with the visor which fails to easily close completely in one corner AND the flip up panel has often jammed on me in the open position. It has been an issue over seas so just be careful with this lid.
Of course, I have no BMW Australia support which is my fault.
I thing the System 4 was a better helmet quality wise.
I actually purchased a Shoei RF1100 due to the BM being a bit disappointing.

Best wishes mate.

OK Ken

OK Ken well done on the system 6. Not to sure what to do,am presently in the US riding a Harley from Chicago to Vegas on route 66. Am presently in the very beautiful Santa Fe. Was thinking of buying a Schuberth C3 while I am here but unsure about the legalities of riding in Australia with a lid without the little sticker ? One of the other riders on the tour insists that it is legal and most of the other riders have been buying helmets while here. You have obviously done the research is it ok to ride without the stickers ?
Anyhow hope you are back in North QLD away from that hole Canberra !
cheers Andrew

Hey Andrew if you like the helmet and feel happy and comfortable with it buy it. I have been riding for over 35yrs and have been pulled over dozens of times for licence and rego checks and the one thing they never do is check your helmet.

G'day fellas.
Andrew, hope you're having a ball in the US. I've not had a bike over there but have many trips driving around. Great roads but some pretty amazing drivers on the highway
at scarry speeds!
Re imported helmets. The Defence force bike list on our Intranet has done a load of informed research including one bloke who sells imported helmets and has dealt with the relevant authorites. A nightmare! They are illegal and you may get a fine if no Australian certification on both the visor or helmet liner.
It may also void your insurance both accident and third party if the relevant authorities find out. Each state is different and it depends on how much the copper wants you as to how much attention they will pay (i.e attitude test!)
I still ride with my System 6 as its still a brilliant safe helmet.
I'd buy the C3 if I had the option if I were you.
Ride safe mate.

Schuberth C3

Thanks Ken, yes had a good time riding the Harley down Route 66. Tried to get to the BMW dealer in San Diego to purchase the helmet but time would just not allow me to fit it in.
Anyhow glad to be home to the R1200GS,feels so light after the Road King !
I did not see many BMW's in the US looks like Harley has a grip on the home market ! Also I have to say that US drivers are much more courteous and forgiving to riders than Australian drivers. For instance on numerous occasions the 12 bikes would arrive at a 4 way give way junction, other cars arriving could have easily forced the give way breaking up our group but never did.
We managed a visit to the Harley museum and many others on the way,was amazed at the huge array of car/bike collections !
Back to the helmet, I will wait for the system 6 to arrive in Australia and see how it fits.
cheers Andrew
