Question K1200S/R electrics

After installing my gerbings straight to the battery on my '06 K1200R,
(the factory socket only supports up to 5 amps or so) I noticed at night that the headlights actually dim just slightly each time the heat kicks on. I'm using a Gerbing heat controller to manage the temp. So it will happen every few seconds while the heat is on.
I'm wondering, is this bad for the bike's electrical system? I'm no double-E, but I would suppose that a nice continuous supply of power at a given level is best for any system over the long run. Should I be concerned and research other power options, or just ignore it?

Howdy -b,

Is the dimming for just a moment and then get back to original brightness, or does it stay dimmer the entire time the Gerbings is drawing power?

Just as long as the red led lights up, indicating that current is flowing.
This control is a little knob which basically operates like a timer, turning the heat on and off at shorter or longer intervals. So the lights are dimming with the frequency of the heat.
The instrument cluster backlighting also dims at the same time.

That sounds right. I only noticed it when it was dark and I was slowing down at a traffic light.
So maybe not that big a deal, eh? Thanks for sharing your observations!
