board 'resets'

The trouble I have is once logged on I can not leave for any length of time. After I return from dinner, an extended phone call, or murdering a door-to-door salesman I find the board reacts as if I have logged off and logged back on again. So any and all unread posts are are treated as read. What can I do, other than not take a break?

Everything is handled by cookies, so be sure your cookies are allowed from the site (if they aren't already).

Each time a new post is added to a thread, that thread is reset to unread because it has unread posts underneath it. So maybe that's the issue.

If it's also "resetting" threads that have no new posts, let me know via PM and I'll try to work it through.
