I want to edit a post so that I tell people my item is sold. How do I do this ? Lee

Add a post at the end saying it's Sold. Put "Sold" in the post title as well.

how to edit

After you make your original post, you are able to edit for some period of time, don't exactly know what that is, and then for some reason that option is not available, so then all you can do is add another post. The idea might be that if 4 or 5 people have posted after you, and then you edit a post much higher up no one will notice the changes, so you are really better off making a new post.

Generally, after <unknown> time is past, moderators and admins here are the only ones who can modify or remove a whole thread. The classifieds get scanned (manually) for being sold, and removed from view. After 60 days (usually, if everyone isn't asleep) the thread gets removed regardless. After 60 days, it's accepted that it's pretty much forgotten, but can be reposted.


As for the <unknown> part, I just can't remember what the time is set to, but will find out.

The original poster may edit the title of a post for 5 minutes. The original poster may edit the content of a post for up to 5 hours. After those times have elapsed only a Moderator or Administrator can edit the post or title.
