07 KGT
My light came on at 9,300. Check pads and they are fine. Called dealer but have not taken it in yet.

Light came on today

07 GT, 1620 miles, red light came on while on the way to work. It's at the dealer now.

First kind of strange experience I had with the service person -- asked me if there was any code on the display (no), suggested it might be "pilot error". Hmm. Big red warning light, known problem with these bikes, "pilot error"??

Wires showing

Catching up here, the dealer replaced the broken wire on my front brakes the same day, good experience. They didn't replace the pads, but with only 1600 miles that seems reasonable.

However, the replacement wires don't look quite right to me. From the brake up to the ziptie they look like bare wires. They're rather heavy copper colored wires, I think with a plastic coating. Above the ziptie they're further wrapped in a black plastic sheath, but I think it's kind of strange to not have the black plastic sheath right behind the brake. I looked at another GT at the showroom and didn't see this, the wires were wrapped all the way down.

Repair was done under warranty, and it works. Should I go back and complain? Or should I just wrap the 3" or so of bare looking wire in some black silicon tape for cosmetics? Or should I just not worry and get on with riding the damn thing...
