trade in value

went to the dealer to look at upgrading to a 2009 or 2010 S and boy did I get low balled. They wanted to give me 6500 $ for a 2006 with 10,000 miles. Looks like I am staying with the 06. Anyone else have this happen.

I'm not sure about the US, but here in Australia, BMW's don't hold any type of value. As soon as you ride it out the door you've lost $10,000 AU from the dealer. Private sales for realistic prices are the way to go.

That happens here too. When you toss in the only dealership closer than 250 miles closing... I shoulda waited a couple more months to buy, but I'm satisfied paying $7,200 for a K12GT with only 7,500 miles on it :-)

Joe

I think a lot of the reduced value is in today's really really poor motorcycle market in general, let alone Used bikes....

Let's be realistic here instead of posting nonsense, whether you want to buy one again or not.

I am not sure I would buy another. The bike is great but has some real known issues that BMW headquarters did nothing about and sold the bike as is and let the consumers deal with. I do not trust the company 100% and that may be enough to make me go to another brand.
