Question K1200S, What's this wire do?

I have a question?
I've started working on my first K1200S. It was wrecked in the front. not bad, just the headlight and front fairing mounts area. Anyway. I found a pig tail wire in front of the battery with nothing pluged into it. This bike had some other non BMW wires on it that were cut, like it had fog lights or something, but this looks like a BMW plug and wires.

What does it do?

Also, while I have you, I had to replace the antenna ring.
Will I have to take the bike to the dealer for updating? or can I do it with a GS911?

The antenna ring is a passive device. No reprogramming needed.

As far as the other wires, I doubt you'll get much help with that description. Color of wires and a picture may help.

There is a plug for the GPS module. 3 wires. Power, ground and a speed signal.
