Jimbo, remember the K13S takes a 190/55, which unfortunately eliminates some brands/types the K12S has access to.

What I've found with the several sets of Mich PP2's since the OEM Conti SA's, is that I've gotten more mileage out of last set than I did with first and second?????? I'm certainly more accustomed to the bike and confident in improving skills which have led to more aggressive riding. Or does the possibility exist that not all tires (same brand & line) are manufactured equally?

Anyway, strongly considering the 190/55 Pilot Road 2ct's which Michelin recently added to that line. Yet Mich website recommends their Pure One for the K13S (not even PP2) so perhaps the PR2 "gives up" too much sport performance for sake of longevity & superior wet handling. I'm not so sure the Pure One is that safe if you get caught having to ride in downpours during a trip.

Comments anyone?

BMW K1200S

OEM Metzler 3500
Pirelli Diablo Corser 3 3800 (Spring riding)
Pirelli Diablo Corser 3 3000 (Summer riding)
Dunlop Roadsport 4500 rear 4000 front (August to September)
Michelin PR2 rear 4000 (accidently run the rear at 50 psi for about 1,000 miles)
Michelin PR2 front 4800 and still going. I probably can go another 500 miles.

All my tires usually get changed about 300-500 miles before they are totally shot. I ran a Pirelli so long that after returning from a morning of spirited riding the rear went totally flat within an hour.

Sheep - I feel I tend to get more mileage out of a given set of tires since my skills have improved and I use more of the overall tread from side to side. I will definitely keep in mind the differences in tire size and watch to see what other 1300S riders post. The ability to maintain grip in cool and damp conditions is key for me beginning my rides on the foggy coast early before sunrise and then having up to 100+ temps in the Sac valley during the day. The PP2 or PR2 both sound interesting to me. The Attack is better in the wet than the Power was on my K12RS, but not a lot. Thaks!

I put a set of PR2s on my K1200S last year and had about 6500 miles on them when I pulled them off to put on fresh rubber for a Pridmore class. I held onto the tires and put them on my 1300 just to burn them up. I've gotten somewhere around another 3500 miles out of them and they're not down to the wear bars. Most of my riding is commuting via the slab, but I've had my fun on some weekends.

Great to see the mileage on the PR2. Just ordered a set with info from another site. After shipping and taxes still at least 20% less than the cheapest store around here. Can't wait to try them. My original Conti Attacks are nearing the wear bars with just over three thousand miles, never really overjoyed with them. They are better than the Pilot Power in cool damp conditions, but the amount of grip they offer is not commencerate with the reduced mileage compared to al the other tires I have run on the K12RS.

Has anyone on here yet installed Mich PR2ct's on their K12/13S and ridden them quite aggressively on back winding roads and serious high-speed sweepers? I know they are good tires, but when given enough time to get heat in them, how good are their handling characteristics on our heavy, powerful bikes considering the profile is more rounded and harder compounds than the PP2's?
TIA, David
