New K1300S

Hi Everyone. Bought a new k1300s about one month ago, traded in a harley dyna. This is the 5th bike I've owned and the best. Thanks to all of the advice and tips I changed engine oil today (easy), but where do you fill the drive case will oil after you drain it? Thanks.

Oil Sump Fill

You don't fill the case, The drain you likely used came from the top of the sump reservoir. In your owners manual, it shows and describes how and where to fill through the top of the sump and guage the level by viewing the level in the sight tube (which is also used as the drain tube unless you used a siphon pump). There are also many DIY posts here and on the MOA forum. Easy to do, hope you got it before now, but it is easy.

Just to clarify... You drain the bottom of the engine and you remove the sight tube at the top of the oil tank and rotate it down to drain the oil tank. Remove and replace the oil filter. Then you reattach the sight tube to the top of the oil tank and fill the oil tank with fresh oil. About 3 quarts at first, replace the oil tank cap, and then start the engine. Let run til you get a few bars on the temp gauge, turn off the engine. Check the sight tube and continue to top off the oil tank until the sight tube reaches a level between min and max. Should take another quart for a total of four quarts.
