Would you do it? K13S to Alaska...

I'm leaning toward a no-go this year on an open offer for additional riders to join up with a couple of riders heading to AK in June this summer, but still considering it....a month long trip going both ways, about 8k miles total. Taking more riding time than I'd normally do but lots of sightseeing added in.

Q is, would you ride the K1300S from AZ to AK?

I don't see a problem with it myself but got to wondering if I left some gray matter behind on the last crash when we managed to total our K1200LTC.

I have never ridden to Alaska, but based on all the stories I have read and photos I have seen over the years, I picture myself on a GS for that ride, not the S......

I have done Alaska...well before the GS invasion. Sort of...was a R100GS.

Did lots of gravel etc... but none really where I wouldn't also take the K1200RS and that includes the "Top of the World" Hwy and the unpaved at the time Cassiar Hwy.

LOTS of paved roads to play anyway, they all are if you want it to be that way,no real need to go on gravel. Have fun, may see you up that way in late June altough not all the way to Alaska for me this year. But...some gravel !

I would do it and planned to do it when I had a R1150GSA. Since then I've had a k1200R Sport, a K1300S and now another K1200R Sport.

When the timing is right in my personal life, I will ride there, regardless of what bike is in the garage.
