which model?

I am trilled with the k1200s for years. Now i have the chance to be an owner I was aiming for a k1300s but it seems that its a few grands out of my budget.
Do you find it logical to compromise for a 2009 model k1200s? Were the failures fixed more or less in that year?
Also, i was told to stay away from the early models of k1300s 2009-2019, is that true?
The horsepower of the k1200 is more than enough for me, im just looking for bike than i would spend more time in riding that fixing.

Advises more than welcome.

If someone really did tell you to stay away from the K1300S, they do not know anything about these bikes. The 1300 is a major redesign of the motor and has a host of improvements. Just ensure that all the recall/service bulletin work has been performed on any bike you want to pick up. To me, the difference in the K1300S is worth the extra $, YMMV. And yes mine is for sale.
