07 K1200GT "Taller" Oil Filter Question

07 K1200GT old BMW filter: ( shorter) 11 42 7 675 41 replaced with new filter: 11 42 7 721 779, however the new is taller. Little harder to install.

BMW service and parts tell me both are correct the new taller one just harder to access. Should I be concerned or run it?

I run the short one. Easier to get on and off without any additional removal of bolts etc. I never really go long between oil changes so I figure it never really has a chance to plug up anyway.
Easy is better...
