Dzus Fasteners Anyone?

Since I like to play around with her for maintenence and farkels I'm thinking wouldn't Dzus fasteners make sense? I had then on several Ducks and were perfect for taking off stuff and they looked really special. Has anyone here changed over to them? Might be a problem since some OEM fasteners are of different lengths. Anyone?

I used them a lot in electronics assembly but they were poorly plated and I would settle for nothing less than all stainless on a bike.

Why not go and investigate your local marine shop? That's where I often go for fasteners. A2 or A4 grade stainless, but A2 is plenty good for a bike unless you take it swimming in the sea.

Check with Jerry at Pirates Lair. He swapped out his torx fasteners for Dzus

Checking around it would just be a PITA. Different length bolts, and some receiver clips don't really fit stock positions. Then Pirate reported that the opening on the panels have to be enlargened. It was just a thought.

On my KRS I swapped all the black BMW torx fasteners for polished stainless hex button heads.

Then I went and bought a cheap palm sized electric screwdriver. Just as fast as Dzus and there is crude torque control.
