Picking up a 2007 K1200S

G'day
Tomorrow I am picking up a 2007 K1200S in Blue and silver with blue rims. It has 12,000 km or 7,500miles. It has the optional ESA fitted.
I used to have a 2005 FJR 1300, but wanted something lighter, faster and I definitely found it with this bike. i have ordered a set of grip puppies which should turn up soon as I had these on my last bike and they bike the grips far more comfortable. I will be installing a set of cruise meister throttle locks when the finances allow.

Welcome to the club!
I have 55K on my K1200s with little trouble. Only stranded once when I landed a wheelie hard and broke the quick disconnect under the fuel tank.
My list of things you want to consider in the order I would do them:
1) metal quick disconnect under fuel tank
2) HID headlight
3) Li battery (if you love the twisties), new seat if you love the freeways
4) Shocks at 10 - 12K miles, check the topics here, I love my Wilbers and don't mis ESA at all. Take your time to get the spring rate right for you.
Post your experiences and questions!

Hi mate,

Could you recommend a set and which HID are you using. Is there a set that the dust caps become the ballast as I have set like that for my Holden SSV so there is no ballast to mount.
Could you explain the metal disconnect for the tank.
I installed the grip puppies last night so at least the grips will be may more comfortable now. I also had my tank grips turn up so I will install these over the weekend.
Thanks
