2005 K1200S CDI Box

I am picking up a K1200S that was dropped on the left side. When that happened the CDI box that is under the fairing was damaged. The numbers on the tag are: 106 818 10: 001 05 22 and 61357694215. I have located a replacement that is the same except for 001 05 22 is 001 22 25 instead. Anyone know if this is a problem

Wow, that takes a Hell of an impact to smash that box thru the fairing. Likely more then just being "Dropped". Look that bike over closely for more damage. When the circuitry in that unit was crushed it very likely smoked the rest if the electronics on the bike as well.

As for the numbers; the parts fiche at any franchise shop website should list all the units for different option packages for different years. The numbers can even be influenced by something as trivial as weather or not the bike has heated grips. A couple years ago the part's guy at my local shop said there were over 100 harnesses for various K-Bike.

Also don't expect to be able to determine anything by a Wiring Diagram. The simple little drawings in the manual are useless and that's on purpose. The factory will not share any details on their circuitry either in print or verbally. As a matter of fact, I'm surprised they still have the parts fiche up on their websites. Don't be shocked if it disappears in the future.
