Just remember, gas stabilizing additives won't do a thing for the alcohol attacking the gauge stipe. Stabilizers are only intended to maintain ignitability and it just represents another variable in the mix. It is really just intended to be used for winter storage. I don't pour anything in the tank without a bunch of double checking.
A friend who was a fellow rider and worked at an auto parts store once insisted I try a new oil additive that was supposed to help with valve train wear I was dealing with trying to build really fast H-D CHs. My 67 CH immediately swallowed a valve.
That was the result of someone reading the Hell out of a bunch of articles about an automotive product and assumed it related in any way to motorcycles. When it comes to the back and forth slop between auto and motorcycle technology, you got to watch it like a hawk. I've noticed over the years that now as more and more riders can't work on their own bikes, the myths and bullshit that gets started between the two industries has gotten worst.
