Over rev/ rev holding problem

Gents, I have recently started having problems with my 05 K1200s.

In the off season I changed the standard paper air filters for a set of K and N cone filters. The bike also has a Remus end can on it but everything is standard on the engine and drive chain side of things.

I went out for my first run this year last weekend and for about 150miles of trouble free riding all was good. On the last short maybe 3 mile ride through town I was riding in about 4th or 5th at 30mph and thought the bike started to feel a little off, lumpy maybe. Thinking it was just I was riding at a low rev thought no more of it until I slowed to turn into my street. As I pulled the clutch on a closed throttle the bike remained reving for a second or so. Since then when ever I rev the bike it holds the revs for a second or 2. The bike rides fine apart from that but I am a bit concerned what it could really be.

Any ideas?

Any info greatly received guys even if you have similar set up to me i.e filters and end can let me know if you have any problems just so I can possibly rule those out.

Idle air control valve sticking. That will cause the throttle actuator to stay open.

When you put in the K&N Filters, did you oil them?
Because if you use too much oil, or dont let it dry out long enough before install, the filter oil will get sucked into the airbox.
The idle air valve (sits in the center) will suck the oil into the plunger, along with fine dust particles causing it to become sticky.

Same happens, if you do an oil change and fill too much oil into the bike.
The airbox will suck oil from engine case breather hose (far right hand) and contaminate the idle air valve with oil.

I would start of by removing the K&N filters and shove a rag into the airbox.... if its oily then you need to clean the idle air valve.

I had the same problem with my 05 K12. I was told to turn on the bike without starting and twist the throttle to wide open 5 times with in 10 seconds to reset the tps. It worked for me.
