Deer in Half/Bike Unharmed

I hit a small deer straight on at about 20 mph. I saw hind quarters go in one direction and the other half in the other and a lot of blood. My front wheel did all the work and I ended up with cracks on either side of my carbon fiber fender and not one scratch on the bike. I was amazed, it felt like a speed bump.

Is this just "good" luck or did my front suspension actually save the day?

Either way, it furthers my love of my K13.

And my hatred for wildlife running into my front wheel.

It sounds like good luck. Good in the sense that you were only doing 20. I'm assuming that you hit it while fully upright and not leaning into a hairpin. I ran over a squirrel once and it felt like a speed bump. But I was probably doing at least 70 at the time. Be thankful that it wasn't a "big deer".
