I'm trying to export my K1200S from the UK to the USA.
Two requirements are the EPA and DOT conformance, which apparently is on a sticker/plaque somewhere on the bike :glasses
I imported my K1200s from Australia to Germany and needed proof of Exhaust emissions. I emailed BMW-Australia, and they came back with all the details required to get it registered here in Germany. I am sure BMW-UK would be as helpfull too.
That sticker is on the bottom of the original seat. A dealer can get a new one for you but a huge amount of trouble. Was following a guy in California trying to register his bike. I think he settled for a used put proper seat.

71 22 7 704 548 LABEL "EMISSION CONTROL INFORMATION" - USA (08/06 to 08/07) NA
71 22 7 712 591 LABEL "EMISSION CONTROL INFORMATION" - USA (from 08/07) $20.28
Got this off the MAX bmw web sight for parts, but your UK bike will not have a carbon fuel vapor canister. Are you sure your K12 is worth the trouble. You can buy one here and sell yours there. You can call MAX BMW parts department and maybe they will mail you one via regular mail envelope? I would be shocked if they had one in stock. They have an email address to inquire about stuff.
