Tire replacement update

Anyone care to comment about their tire updates and performance characteristics. I'm due for new rubber before a trip north and think the M3 may be best. But don't know.

Michelin Pilot Power. GREAT traction (designed to be used for ocassional track days) and reasonable tire life. About 4,000 miles from a rear, with aggressive riding.

bridgestone bt014, SHOT in 1650 miles, worked good other than life

I now have Metzler M3's smoother and with 1200mi on them lots of tread left, I will guess good for 3000-4000, i really think its Pilot power or M3's on these bikes. If you don't need quite as much grip, I'd go with Z6's

Thumbs up

Just installed a brand new M3 after the original M1 wear out (7200kms with the M1 and 1000kms with the M3). Couldn't be happier, great handling and grip, just excelent, only question that remains is how will it last, hope at least as the M1.

Vaughn,

That's the tire I was going to try next...I know some aggressive riders on ZZR
1200's that are getting 7k-8k out of the set.

Please let me know what you think of these...

Hi guys,

I had ContiSport Attacks on my K1200R and while they were cheap, I didn't get along with them. Nor did I get any good mileage out of them... They work fine on my girlfriends GSX-R600.

See here for full details:

I've now got a set of Sportec M3's on, and they're fantastic - I can even do knee-downs at the local roundabouts...
