Thanks Ken. Looks like any decision s/b based on look and sound. Any subjective opinion regarding performance?

They all seem to show significant gains around 7000 but interestingly the Laser Hot Cam Slip On is the only one that does not have the torque falling away at the lower revs around 4000.

Thanks for the info Ken - is there much "smoothing" of the outputs using the Dimsport and WB sensor.

Wow

Ken,
Thank you very much for this post. I am looking to install a full system on my K12S and I am leaning towards the Akrapovic system from your previous posts...

...BUT, I also confirmed a rumor that Rhinewest is working on a chip for the Remus and Laser systems that should boost a total of somewhere around a 12 to 13 HP gain over stock. Perhaps this will also smooth out the torque curves? There is no release date on this product yet. If I were in the marketing department, I would time it for release just before the Laguna-Seca Moto GP.

i will be posting the full system results soon. but, as to the rhinewest "chip" i would be a little skeptical since there is no removable eprom on these computers (they are programmed via reflashing the computer using the factory gt1).

also, as to 12-13 hp gains, are they talking peak numbers or at some point in the rev range? if you look at the graphs, all of the slip-ons produced ~12 hp increases at 7k rpm. we have been playing with the fueling and spark timing on many k-bikes and at the top end there is just not that kind of gain since the fuel curve is slightly rich, even with modifications.

KEN,
Could please comment on the sounds of each. Did any stand out? Would it be possible to email a sound file to those interested?

sorry, no sound files. the laser powercup is loud (it is a race muffler). the other four are about the same loudness compared to each other.

Ken,

Did you run any tests with the Laser Duo-tech?

HP gains

Ken,
Nice post...thanks. With your "performance" or "race" filters installed, at what point in the rev range woud any HP gain be realized and about how much. BTW...I am thrilled with the race filters on my S!

Ken, I'm surprized... you didn't test the Akrapovic slip-on?

It's not the speed that kills, it's the rate at which the speed diminishes...
