Avons 45 or 49 in the front?

I know some guys(on non BMW's) that are running the AV49(sport) with the AV46(sportouring) version on the rear. The 49's are supposed to turn in quicker.

Anyone have any input?

But, does a 49 run out of tread about the time a 46 rear does?

I changed my 45/46 at the same time.
The 45 on the Front is top.

Most of the time it does but I went back to the ST 45.

Is there a noticeable difference in the profiles of the 45 and 49?

The reason I ask is for a long time I ran a Pilot sport F /Pilot Road R.
Couldn't get a Sport front last time and ended up with a Road front.
Don't like it near as well as the pilot sport.

Level of stickiness?

thanks,

The 49 is about the same as the Pilot Sport F/ but the 46 R/ is a softer tire than the P. Road.

I've been running the 49/46 combo for a few changes and the front outlasts the rear but I change both.

cousi,

o.k. I think I'm going to try that with my S on the next change.

I know it's all in how you ride, but what kid of mileage are you getting?

I'd love to go with a strictly sport tire, but I'm putting 15k miles a year on the bike and I'd be changing tires 5-6 times a year at that rate.
